Quick Troubleshooting
🔑 Can't Sign In
Make sure you're using your Tesla account email and password. If you use a third-party login (Google/Apple), you may need to set a Tesla password first at accounts.tesla.com.
😴 Vehicle Asleep
Your Tesla sleeps to save battery. Tap "Wake Up" on the Dashboard tab. It can take 10–30 seconds for the vehicle to respond.
🔗 Pairing Failed
Vehicle pairing requires Bluetooth. Make sure you're standing next to the vehicle with Bluetooth enabled. Hold your phone near the center console NFC reader.
🔔 No Push Notifications
Check Settings → Notifications → TslaEye is enabled. For Sentry Guard, make sure it's activated in the app and the server has a valid connection.
📷 Camera Not Working
Tesla restricts live camera streaming to their official app. This is a Tesla API limitation, not a TslaEye bug. Use the Monitor tab for real-time speed and location tracking instead.
⚡ Commands Failing
Commands require vehicle pairing (key setup). Go to the Settings tab → "Pair Vehicle" and follow the NFC pairing process. Also verify the vehicle is awake.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Tesla models are supported?
TslaEye works with all Tesla models that support the Fleet API, including Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. Your vehicle must have software version 2024.26 or later for full functionality.
Is my Tesla account safe?
Yes. TslaEye uses Tesla's official OAuth 2.0 authentication. Your username and password are entered directly on Tesla's servers — we never see or store them. Only temporary access tokens are stored in your device's encrypted iOS Keychain.
What is vehicle pairing and why is it needed?
Tesla requires third-party apps to register as a "virtual key" on your vehicle. This is a one-time process where you tap your phone to the vehicle's center console NFC reader. Once paired, TslaEye can securely sign commands like lock, unlock, and climate control.
How does Sentry Guard work?
When enabled, our server polls your vehicle every 30 seconds to detect state changes — like the vehicle waking up unexpectedly or doors being opened while sentry mode is active. When a threat is detected, you receive an instant push notification. If auto-deterrent is on, the horn, lights, and boombox are triggered automatically.
How do speed alerts work?
Set a speed threshold (e.g. 80 mph) and TslaEye will send you a push notification whenever the vehicle exceeds that speed. This works both while the app is open (local alerts) and while the app is closed (server-side push). Great for monitoring teen drivers or fleet vehicles.
Does TslaEye drain my Tesla's battery?
Minimal impact. Polling only occurs when monitoring features are enabled, and we use Tesla's vehicle state to avoid waking a sleeping vehicle unnecessarily. When your car is parked and asleep, no polling occurs unless Sentry Guard detects a state change.
Can I use TslaEye with multiple vehicles?
Yes. All vehicles on your Tesla account appear in TslaEye. You can swipe between vehicles on the Dashboard and each vehicle can have its own monitoring settings.
How do I revoke TslaEye's access?
You can revoke access at any time from your Tesla account at
accounts.tesla.com under "Security" → "Third-Party Apps". You can also sign out of TslaEye to remove all local tokens and data.
